Spotify's New Updates: Offline Lyrics, Global Translations, and Improved User Experience
Spotify has just announced a trio of exciting updates to its lyrics feature, enhancing the user experience for music enthusiasts worldwide. The streaming giant is now offering offline support for lyrics, expanding translation services to all users globally, and introducing a new lyrics preview in the Now Playing tab.
Offline Lyrics for All
One of the most anticipated features is the ability to access lyrics offline. Premium users can now download songs for offline listening, and the lyrics will be saved on their devices along with the tracks. This means no more missing out on the lyrics when you're in an area with limited internet connectivity.
Global Translation Access
Lyric translations have been available on Spotify since 2022, but they were initially limited to select markets. Now, the feature is accessible to both Free and Premium users worldwide, ensuring that music lovers can unlock the meaning of songs in various languages. Simply swipe up on the Now Playing tab and tap the translate icon on the lyrics card to view translations based on your device's language.
Lyrics Preview for Easy Access
Spotify has also introduced a new lyrics preview feature. Instead of swiping up on the lyrics card, users can now access the lyrics from a short space below the album art. This makes it even easier to follow along with the song, especially for those who enjoy singing along or learning the lyrics.
Mobile-Only Feature for Now
It's worth noting that the lyrics preview feature is currently available only on mobile and tablet devices. Users can turn it off by tapping the three-dot menu at the top-right of the Now Playing screen and selecting 'Lyrics Off'.
